Caching by your Browser
Web pages you request are stored in your browser's cache directory on your hard disk. That way, when you return to a page you've recently looked at, the browser can get it from the cache rather than the original server. However if you are looking at dynamic pages you will want to make sure that you are viewing the latest version of this page so you may need to clear your cache.
The procedure for deleting the cache on your browser varies according to your platform and the browser you are using:
Internet Explorer 5 upwards
1) Click 'Tools' on your top menu bar
2) Click 'Internet Options'
3) Under Internet Options, click on the 'General' tab
4) In the 'Temporary Internet files' section click on the 'Delete Files' button.
5) Click 'OK' to the pop-up box that asks if you wish to
'delete all files in your temporary internet files Folder'. You don't need to check
the box to delete any of the subscription content though.
6) Click 'OK' on 'Internet Options'
Netscape 6 upwards and Mozilla 1.4 upwards
1) Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
2) Under the Advanced category, click Cache. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click Advanced to expand the list.)
3) Click Clear Disk Cache.
Caching by a Proxy Server
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between a workstation user and the Internet so that a company can ensure security, administrative control, and caching. A proxy server works by receiving a web page request from a user it then looks in its local cache of previously downloaded Web pages. If it finds the page, it returns it to the user without needing to forward the request to the Internet. If the page is not in the cache, the proxy server requests the page from the Internet.
This presents problems for any site that contains dynamically generated pages. Most proxy servers are now set up so that they don't cache these type of pages. However if your company has a proxy server that does cache dynamically generated pages then you may be seeing pages that have been returned directly from the proxy server cache rather than the actual CUBITECH web server, for example someone else's details on the login page. If this is the case you will need to contact your IT department and request that your companies proxy server is configured so that it doesn't cache pages from www. cubitech.com
Caching at ISP level
As you may be aware, certain Internet Service Providers do 'cache' pages themselves before passing them onto the User. In a similar manner to the deployment of a caching proxy server this will cause problems when using www.cubitech.com and we strongly recommend that you avoid using an ISP who does this. Please check with your ISP. Most of the major ISP's recognise this as infringing a Users ability to look at the web, and do not cache in this way.
